Chocolate Protein Mug Cake

A quick, high-protein chocolate fix made in minutes. This soft, fluffy mug cake delivers rich cocoa flavour with a boost of protein, topped with melty chocolate chips and optional creamy yoghurt. Perfect for an easy dessert or post-dinner treat that keeps your macros in check.

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tbsp wholemeal self-raising flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp (45ml) milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar-free chocolate chips
  • Optional: Greek yoghurt, to serve

Method

  1. Lightly grease a small ramekin or deep mug.

  2. In a bowl, combine the protein powder, flour, cocoa powder, egg, and milk. Mix until smooth.

  3. Pour the batter into the prepared mug and sprinkle over the chocolate chips.

  4. Microwave on high for 1 minute 10–20 seconds, or until just set in the centre.

  5. Allow to cool slightly, then top with a dollop of Greek yoghurt and a dusting of cocoa if desired. Serve immediately.
